Fascias and Soffits

Professional Fascia & Soffit Installation

Fascias and soffits are essential parts of your roofline that help protect your home from the elements while keeping the roof structure properly ventilated. The fascia board runs along the edge of the roof and supports the guttering system, while the soffit sits underneath, helping airflow move through the roof space and preventing moisture build-up.

At TC Home Improvements, we provide professional fascia and soffit installation, replacement and repair services, helping homeowners keep their properties protected, functional and looking well maintained.

Why Proper Fascias & Soffits Matter

Over time, older timber fascias and soffits can deteriorate due to constant exposure to weather. Cracks, rot or damage can lead to problems such as poor ventilation, water penetration and weakened gutter support.

By installing modern, durable fascia and soffit systems, you can improve the protection of your roofline while reducing the need for ongoing maintenance. Quality installations help ensure rainwater is directed correctly through your guttering system and that your roof space remains properly ventilated.

Many homeowners don’t notice roofline problems until visible damage appears. Fascias and soffits are constantly exposed to rain, wind and changing temperatures, so over time they can begin to deteriorate.

Some common signs that your fascia or soffit system may need attention include:

  • Peeling paint or visible wood rot

  • Gutters pulling away from the roofline

  • Cracks or gaps along the roof edge

  • Poor roof ventilation or condensation in the loft

  • Birds or pests entering through damaged soffits

Addressing these issues early can help prevent larger structural problems and costly repairs later.

Fascias

Fascias and bargeboards make up the front panels of the roofline system.

They are particularly prone to damage and dirt and with the older systems made up of wood which over time will rot and requires painting.

The new UPVC systems, don't require painting and are extremely durable with a modern appeal and overall look they make a huge improvement on the general appearance of a property.

We, therefore, provide quality repairs or replacements with the new UPVC Fascias and soffits, plus guttering and downpipes.

Soffits

The essential support to the roofline which links the fascias and bargeboards to the wall, soffits can be vented to allow airflow and ventilation in the loft space.

The soffit board is tucked away under the fascia board. It is usually the board that you see most of from street level. The soffit can be ventilated to allow the flow of air into the roof area. Alternatively, ventilation can be provided over the top of the fascia board.

Many people prefer the latter solution these days. Without adequate ventilation, condensation will form in the roof void increasing the risk of timber decay.

Ventillation

Over fascia vents is the most commonly used system that also complies with the latest building regulations and his hidden from view. Another option is Continuous ventilation at eaves level

This method is achieved by ventilation applied to soffit area. Examples of this are 'strip ventilation' and circular or square ventilation grills.
